Perkilator VS Electric Coffee Machine

So I have this amazing perkilator that I use on the stove everyday. I'm a coffee fanatic and love learning about and trying all different varieties. I know that perked coffee is the worst kind out there but it tastes and smells so good! Plus, I love the sound my machine makes. So is anyone else like me or do you all use the electric machines? For those who've used a stovetop and electric perkilator, what's the difference in taste? Btw, I'm not talking about the automatic drip machines. Just for the hell of it, does anyone here own a French press? I've seen one but have no clue how to use it.

I can't say I've had perked coffee of any kind. I do want to try using a coffee press, though, as I'm told they make quite a good cup of coffee. But see, I also intend to try coffee ground from the coffee bean as well. Haven't done it yet, as the latest coffee sensation in this house is the Senseo single-serv coffeemaker. Makes it easy to have a cup every day without having to brew a whole pot of coffee, although the pods can be expensive, so it's not something you get if you want best value for your money.

I've heard that pod coffee is among the worst out there. The best way to have coffee is right after it's ground, so yes, buying whole bean is a very good idea. I've yet to do that, as I still don't have a grinder and I want a manual one. I saw one from about 1908 or something on ebay and didn't get it. It was in working condition too! Anyway, let me know how your press endeavour works out.
